Kathy Farrell

Head of Commercial Real Estate

Kathy Farrell is head of  Commercial Real Estate for Truist Financial Corporation, a purpose-driven financial services organization committed to inspiring and building better lives and communities. Truist is a full-service provider of banking and capital markets solutions to owners, operators and developers of commercial real estate properties across the country.  Farrell’s team includes Truist Community Capital which participates in tax credit investment activity in Low Income Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credits, SBICs and community development funds. In addition, she has direct oversight of the wholly owned subsidiary, Grandbridge, a Fannie Mae delegated underwriting and servicing (DUS) lender and Freddie Mac Optigo lender.  She is also a member of the Truist’sOperating Council. 

Farrell was named to her current position in 2019.  She previously held roles of increasing responsibility at PNC. Her career spans more than 25 years in real estate finance and banking, including origination, underwriting, capital markets, work out strategies, and risk management. Farrell is involved with various industry organizations including the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and the Real Estate Roundtable (RER) where she is a co-chair of the Real Estate Capital Policy Advisory Committee. 

Active in her community, Farrell currently serves as the Board Chair of the Truist Foundation, the current Chairperson of The Atlanta Beltline Partnership, and is a board member of the West Side Future Fund and The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia.   

Farrell earned a bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross and resides in Atlanta.
