Head of Truist Asset Finance
Kathy Farrell is head of Truist Asset Finance for Truist Financial Corporation, where she oversees much of the secured lending activity across the Wholesale Bank.
Since joining Truist’s predecessor, SunTrust, in 2013, she has built an industry-leading Commercial Real Estate platform that works with many of the country’s largest and most active real estate investors.
Within Truist Asset Finance, the Commercial Real Estate businesses provide capital to a wide range of investors, including publicly traded REITs, homebuilders, private equity funds, and private real estate developers and operators. In addition to traditional commercial real estate banking activity, the practice includes Truist Community Capital, which participates in tax credit investment activity in Low Income Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credits, small business investment companies (SBICs) and community development funds, as well as Grandbridge, a Fannie Mae delegated underwriting and servicing (DUS) lender and Freddie Mac Optigo lender.
Farrell also has oversight responsibility for the Structured Credit businesses, including asset-based lending, equipment finance, supply chain finance, and working capital solutions. Premium Finance, an insurance premium financing subsidiary, also operates within Truist Asset Finance.
Farrell serves as a member of Truist’s Operating Council and sits on the Truist CRA Oversight Committee. She is a board member of Truist Securities Inc. and the Chair of the Truist Foundation, a private foundation focused on economic mobility and strengthening small businesses.
Active in her community, Farrell also serves on the Board of the West Side Future Fund. She is a past chair of the Atlanta Beltline Partnership and the current Vice Chair of the North Georgia Catholic Foundation.
Farrell earned a bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross and lives in Atlanta with her husband and three children. Outside of work, she’s a general sports enthusiast and enjoys playing tennis and golf.
