SunTrust Financial Confidence Center Opens at Crosstown Concourse

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Aug. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) will host the onUp on tour August 24 at the recently opened SunTrust Financial Confidence Center at the Crosstown Concourse development in Memphis. SunTrust Financial Confidence Center offers advice and resources to help community members build financial confidence. onUp on tour is a pop-up, entertainment experience that inspires visitors to learn about finances through fun, interactive, sports-based activities.

SunTrust Financial Confidence Center is staffed by financial professionals who provide financial literacy information and classes to the community at no charge. Additionally, the center offers free one-on-one counseling on credit and money management, as well as small business ownership, in partnership with Operation HOPE.

A former Sears building, Crosstown Concourse is now a mixed-use redevelopment dedicated to the cultivation of health and well-being. Tenants include restaurants and retail stores, a small grocery store, a fitness center, health clinics, a charter high school, a contemporary art center, commercial offices and 265 loft-style apartments.

SunTrust was integral in the development of the Crosstown Group, working with community leaders from the project's inception. SunTrust Commercial Real Estate led an $80.5 million syndicated loan as part of the $200 million transformation of the site. Additionally, through its subsidiary, SunTrust Community Capital, the bank also led a $56 million New Markets Tax Credit transaction and participated as an investor for $18.3 million.

As part of the opening festivities for the SunTrust Financial Confidence Center, onUp on tour is making a stop in Memphis August 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visiting more than 45 cities, SunTrust aims to reach thousands of people at each location to join the onUp movement and take actions toward financial confidence with free tools, tips and resources.
