Truist to serve as presenting partner of SMU Women’s Athletics as part of wide-ranging partnership
DALLAS (SMU) – Mustang Partners and SMU Athletics announced a new partnership with Truist Financial Corporation, highlighted by Truist becoming the presenting partner of SMU Women’s Athletics.
The multi-year partnership will provide Truist with a significant presence across SMU Athletics while creating new opportunities to showcase and celebrate SMU women’s sports, student-athletes and the history of women’s athletics at SMU.
“We are excited to welcome Truist as a partner of SMU Athletics and to work together to elevate and celebrate our women’s sports programs,” said Dawn Rogers, Deputy AD of Internal Affairs. "This partnership goes beyond traditional branding. Truist is investing in opportunities to tell the stories of women’s sports at SMU and champion our student-athletes on and off the field.”
Through this partnership, Truist will be integrated into digital and social content across SMU’s women’s sports programs, including gameday and final score content throughout the year.
The partnership will also include a six-part social media series celebrating the history of SMU Women’s Athletics, providing a platform to highlight the student-athletes, teams and moments that have helped shape SMU Athletics.
“North Texas is an important growth market for Truist, and we're committed to investing in the people, institutions and opportunities that help our communities thrive,” said DeVon Lang, Truist North Texas Regional President. “Our partnership with SMU reflects that commitment while creating new opportunities to celebrate the accomplishments of women student-athletes, support the next generation of leaders and strengthen our connection to the North Texas community. This collaboration aligns with Truist's purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities, and we're proud to support a program with such a meaningful impact.”
Truist will also have a prominent presence at competitions held at Moody Coliseum with branding on team bench chairbacks for volleyball, women’s basketball and men’s basketball.
The partnership extends across the Hilltop with permanent signage at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex supporting SMU men’s and women’s tennis.
Truist will also engage Mustang fans throughout the football season through in-stadium LED signage and a Boulevard activation space on SMU football gamedays. The partnership includes hospitality opportunities at select games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium and a future leadership event featuring SMU Head Football Coach Rhett Lashlee.
Through its combination of storytelling, gameday activations, brand visibility and fan engagement, the partnership will provide Truist with a year-round presence across SMU Athletics while creating meaningful opportunities to support and celebrate SMU student-athletes.
