Veteran banking leader bolsters commercial banking team’s presence in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C., (March 10, 2026) — Truist Financial Corporation (NYSE: TFC) today announced Eric Lewis has been named Charlotte market president for Commercial Banking, a role focused on advancing growth and strengthening commercial client relationships in the region.

With more than 22 years at Truist, Lewis brings deep institutional knowledge, a strong record of performance, and established relationships across the local business community. In this role, he will lead commercial banking efforts across the Charlotte market, building on the franchise’s strong momentum and deepening relationships with clients and community partners.

“Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing large cities in the country and our headquarters city, making this an especially important market for our commercial banking business,” said Travis Rhodes, Truist regional president for North Carolina West. “Eric brings the right combination of market leadership experience and institutional knowledge to help us capitalize on the growth opportunities ahead and continue delivering for clients across the Charlotte region.”

Most recently, Lewis served as head of regional coverage within Small Business Banking, where he led large, complex portfolios and advanced SBA initiatives. He previously held senior roles across Small Business and Business Banking, including interim leadership of the Small Business Banking segment. Earlier in his career, Lewis served in market president roles across the Greater Washington and Maryland regions, leading commercial banking teams and driving growth at the local level.
