Fadie “Freddy” Itayem

Head of Consumer Lending 

Fadie “Freddy” Itayem is head of consumer lending for Truist Financial Corporation and a member of the Truist Operating Council. He leads the strategy and performance of Truist’s consumer lending portfolio, with responsibility for real estate lending, unsecured and personal lending, indirect lending, mortgage servicing, consumer capital markets, and portfolio performance. In this role, he focuses on optimizing balance sheet strategy, deploying capital to its highest and best use, and deepening client relationships across the franchise.

A seasoned financial services executive with more than 20 years of experience, Itayem has spent over a decade at Truist in roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as head of enterprise finance, where he helped build the chief financial officer organization and drove enterprise-wide business performance. Previously, he was corporate treasurer, leading the largest balance sheet reposition in recent history, and earlier served as chief financial officer for the Consumer and Wealth businesses.

Guided by Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities, Itayem’s personal purpose is to help people see the unseen—within themselves and others—while spreading positivity. He is deeply committed to community engagement and regularly volunteers with organizations including Special Olympics, the American Heart Association, and UNICEF.

Itayem holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three daughters.
